D&D 5E Spell Effect Templates

So I love D&D next, but I need some help when it comes to magic areas of effect. I can read the rules all day but I need some visual aids. So could anyone link me to some printable cut outs or some pics showing the different effects. As bonus, are they similiar at all to some of the 3.5/Pathfinder templates I have seen online?

What kind of templates are you looking for? There was a topic from the 3.5 era, that seems to used the boxy circle measurements of 3.5. Has the playtest actually defined 'how to count squares' like 3E did? They define Cones yet?

Sorry for delay. New work training throws me off a bit. But here is what is in the D&D Next How To Play for Cones.

Cone:
A cone extends in a direction you choose from its point of origin. A cone's width at a given point along its length is equal to that point's distance from the point of origin.

I think I understand what it is saying but I was just wanting an example to see by.

That looks like the general idea to me. Nice job! The only thing I might tweak would bebto make the cone to line up on a grided surface like the old 3e or Pathfinder. But by seeing your example I can now get it in my head correct. Thanks sgain!

It did not look from the text you posted that cones are grid-slaved in D&D next. I made that graphic hoping it would not cause anyone to read in rules that did not exist in Next.

 Sorry, 3.5 flashbacks make me cranky.

You do have a point there Sir. It does not indeed specify exactly. But am I detecting a slight dislike for the grid? :)

Despite 3e being my start in RPGs, 3e magic makes me cranky.
